19 Inch Subrack EuropacPRO - For Railway Applications

Subracks for Railway Technology - Made-to-Measure for Tracks, Trains, Stations and Signal Boxes

19 inch subrack suitable for high mechanical stress 19 inch subrack suitable for high mechanical stress

In order to optimize subracks various standardized components are used for a wide variety of requirements in the railway sector. Regardless of whether the subracks are used indoors, on the railway tracks or directly on the train, they meet the respective requirements in terms of cooling, shielding, mechanics, standardization/certification as well as shock and vibration resistance. Choose your individual solution from the nVent SCHROFF EuropacPRO system according to the environmental conditions and field of application.

Applications

Particularly demanding applications in the field of traffic engineering - such as railway technology - require the protection of integrated electronics. No matter where it is. On the train itself, at the station, in the signal box or along the tracks.

Due to the different conditions of the respective application area, the requirements for the protection of the electronics are also very different. The solution is provided by SCHROFF's EuropacPRO modular subrack platform, which makes it possible to respond to the different requirements in the railway sector in terms of statics and dynamics.

Subrack versions

  • Type L „Light“This basic subrack version comes without EMC shielding. It is particularly suitable for indoor applications and cost-effictive solutions.
  • Type F „Flexible“The basic version of Type F also comes unshielded, but can be upgraded with EMC shielding. This type of subrack has depth-adjustable 19 inch brackets and can be equipped with light (1-hole fixing)  or heavy (2-hole fixing) horizontal rails.
  • Type H „Heavy“Type H features reinforced side panels and aluminum front handles. It is available as a shielded and unshielded version and is suitable for shock and vibration requirements up to 5 G. It has been tested and approved both by Deutsche Bahn and the French SNCF standard. Type H features a good cost-performance ratio and is often used directly on or inside the train due to its high mechanical stability.
  • Type R „Rugged“Type R is particularly designed for mechanically demanding and very harsh environments. It is shock resistant up to 25 G due to reinforced side panels, reinforced horizontal rails and 19" brackets or corner profiles. Stainless steel screws with thread locking compound are used for vibration resistance. A 65% higher rigidity is achieved by using horizontal rails with 3-hole fixing. For superior protection of the internal electronics Type R has a top cover locking. A form closure to the cover plate or to the horizontal rail can prevent the emergence of resonances in the event of heavy shock loads. Due to its design, Type R is also vibration-resistant in mobile applications and particularly harsh environments.

All four EuropacPRO subrack versions are available as individual parts or pre-fitted kits.

nVent SCHROFF's branded subracks are compliant with all applicable industry standards. These are the European Railway Standard DIN EN 50155 Part 12.2.11, the German Railway Standards BN 411002 and BN 411003 and the French Standards NFF 67012 and NFF 60002.

May offers an assembly service for all subrack versions.
